Web Summary and Web Reader – Usage terms and important information

Third-party data processing, model governance, data residency, and compliance terms for the Web Summary and Web Reader activities in the UiPath GenAI Activities package.

The Web Summary and Web Reader activities in the GenAI Activities package send the information you provide, including URLs, search queries and prompt text, directly to third-party services operated by Jina AI and/or Perplexity, depending on configuration and availability.

These requests do not pass through the UiPath AI Trust Layer (AITL) or Integration Service. Therefore, controls such as audit logging and traces, guardrails, and policies configured through Automation Ops cannot be enforced for these activities.

Before using these activities, confirm that their use meets your organization's contractual, security, privacy, data residency, and regulatory requirements. In particular:

• Models and model changes

  UiPath does not select or control the models used by Jina or Perplexity. These services may use proprietary or third-party models and may change them without prior notification to UiPath or customers. Therefore, UiPath cannot guarantee specific model selection, model visibility, or advance notification of model changes. You can review the provider information:

• Residência de dados

  Perplexity processes data in the US. Jina processes data in the US, except for tenants configured for EU, where data is processed in the EU. Confirm that this meets your organization's residency requirements before accessing these activities.

• Personal and sensitive data

  Do not use these activities with sensitive or regulated data, including health, financial, or restricted government data, unless your organization has confirmed that such use is permitted.

• Customer Managed Keys

  Customer Managed Keys (CMK) do not apply once data is transmitted to Jina or Perplexity.

  Jina and Perplexity compliance, including security certifications, supplier-assurance requirements, or public-sector authorization levels, may differ from contractual commitments applicable to your UiPath environment.

If your organization requires specific security, residency, AI governance, or contractual safeguards, confirm that these requirements are satisfied before using Web Summary or Web Reader.
