Send File to Channel

UiPath.Slack.IntegrationService.Activities.UploadFile

Description

Uses the files.upload - POSTAPI to upload and send a file to a channel in Slack.

Configuration

  • ConnectionId - The connection established in Integration Service. Access the drop-down menu to choose, add or manage connections. This field supports only strings or String variables.
  • File - Used to store a file in a remote application. Accepts input as IResource. This property represents a file. This file resource appears by default in Upload or Download activities that have a file as input or output. To use this resource, use the Download file/attachment activity from any respective file systems, such as GitHub, Google Drive, OneDrive, Box, etc., and pass the downloaded File Resource as input here.
  • Channels - Type the name or ID of the public or private channel and select from the drop-down. If channel is not found in the drop-down, you can first scroll the drop-down till the bottom to get all the available channels and then type the channel or retrieve the channel name from Slack application -> Right click on that channel -> Click on "Copy" -> Click on "Copy name" -> Pass the copied channel name without "#". Multiple channel IDs or names can also be provided in comma-separated format. For example, "C022EA2UFP1,help-integration-service".
  • Send as - Whether to send the message as the App bot i.e. using Bot token or as yourself by using the User Token.

Manage Properties Wizard

The Manage Properties Wizard can be used to configure or use any of the object’s standard or custom fields by selecting and adding them to the activity canvas. The added standard/custom fields are available in the Properties panel (in Studio Desktop) or under Additional options (in Studio Web).

  • Initial Comment - The message text introducing the file in specified channels. This field supports only strings or String variables.

Output

  • File ID - The output ID of the uploaded file. This field supports only strings or String variables.
  • Download file URL - The output URL of the file uploaded.
  • File upload - The output file object.
