Write Row activity that writes a row of data to an Apple Numbers table.

Description

Writes a row of data to an Apple Numbers table.

This activity writes a single row to a table, either overwriting an existing row, inserting a new row, or appending one at the end. You supply the row either as a System.Data.DataRow or as a collection of objects, and the activity returns a snapshot of the table after the write.

Note:

This package only runs on macOS systems with Apple Numbers installed.

Configuration

You can configure the activity and its properties as follows:

• File (local path) - The path to the Apple Numbers spreadsheet file.

  • Use a File Resource - Switches to a file resource reference instead of a plain path. You can browse for a file in either mode; this only changes how the reference is stored.
  • Use Local File - Switches back to the plain path field, restoring your previous value.

• Sheet - The name of the sheet containing the table.

• Row index - The 1-based row index to write to. Row 1 is always the table's first row, including a header row if present. Required for the Overwrite and Insert write modes, and ignored for Append. The default value is 1.

• Data row - The row to write, as a System.Data.DataRow. Used when Data type is set to DataRow.

• Array row - The row to write, as an array or IEnumerable of objects. Used when Data type is set to ArrayRow.

  Note:

  Numbers, booleans, and dates in the row keep their type when written; any other value is handled by Numbers as typed input, the same as if it had been typed directly into the cell.

Input

• Table name - The name of the table. Defaults to the first table in the sheet if not specified.

Options

• Data type - Which row input to use. Select one of the following options:
  • DataRow - Use the value from Data row (a System.Data.DataRow). This is the default option.
  • ArrayRow - Use the value from Array row (an array or IEnumerable of objects).
• Write mode - How to write the row. Select one of the following options:
  • Overwrite - Replaces the existing row at Row index. This is the default option.
  • Insert - Adds a new row at Row index, shifting existing rows down.
  • Append - Adds the row at the end of the table.

Output

• Table information - Information about the table after the operation, including sheet name, table name, row count, column count, and header row count.
