Add Text to Slide

UiPath.Presentation.Activities.InsertTextInPresentation

Description

Inserts text in a PowerPoint presentation in a specified placeholder. This activity must be added inside a Use PowerPoint Presentation activity.

Cross-platform configuration

In the body of the activity
  • Presentation - Click Pluson the right side of the field to toggle between using a local path or a Resource file. We recommend using relative folder paths to accommodate the file structure variations between Windows and Linux during project execution. For example, newFolder or otherFolder.
  • Slide number - The index of the slide containing the desired text form.

  • Content placeholder - The name of the shape where to insert.

  • Text to add- Text to insert.

  • Clear existing text in content placeholder - If enabled, clears the text in the content placeholder before adding the new text.

Windows configuration

In the body of the activity
  • Presentation - Set a presentation file in which to insert the text.
  • Slide number - The index of the slide containing the desired text form.

  • Content placeholder - The name of the shape where to insert.

  • Text to add- Text to insert.

  • Clear existing text in content placeholder - If selected, clears the text in the content placeholder before adding the new text.
Properties

Common

  • DisplayName - The name displayed for the activity in the Designer panel.

Input

  • See the options in the body of the activity.

Misc

  • Private - If selected, the values of variables and arguments are no longer logged at Verbose level.

Windows - Legacy configuration

In the body of the activity
  • Presentation - Click Plus on the right side of the field, and then select the presentation file where to insert the text.
  • Slide number - Click Plus on the right side of the field, then select the presentation file and the slide where to insert the text.

    Alternatively, use one of the other options in the menu to indicate the slide number:

    • Data from the Project Notebook or a parent Excel file. For example, select a cell in an Excel file to use the value in that cell.
    • Ask when run - Prompt for the slide number when the project is executed.
    • Number - Enter the slide number.
    • Use Saved Value - Select a numeric value that you previously saved for later use in the project.
    • Open in Advanced Editor - Enter a VB expression.
  • Content placeholder - Click Plus on the right side of the field, then select the presentation file, the slide, and then select the name of the placeholder where to insert the text.

    Alternatively, use one of the other options in the menu to indicate the layout name:

    • Data from the Project Notebook, a parent Excel file or Outlook account. For example, select a cell in an Excel file to use the value in that cell.
    • Ask when run - Prompt for the name when the project is executed.
    • Paste from clipboard - Paste a value that you previously copied to the clipboard in the project.
    • Text - Enter the name in the Text Builder.
    • Use Saved Value - Select a value that you previously saved for later use in the project.
    • Open in Advanced Editor - Enter a VB expression.
  • Text to add- Click Plus on the right side of the field, and then select Text to enter the text to insert in the presentation.

    Alternatively, you can use one of the other options in the menu to indicate the text to insert:
