Set Range Format activity that applies formatting to a range of cells in an Apple Numbers spreadsheet.

Description

Applies formatting to a range of cells in an Apple Numbers spreadsheet.

This activity applies font, color, alignment, text wrapping, and number format settings to a cell range. You can supply a base CellFormat object, for example, one returned by the Get Cell Format activity, through the Formatting property, and override individual settings with the properties below. Any override you set takes precedence over the base object, and any property left empty is inherited from the base object or skipped.

Note:

This package only runs on macOS systems with Apple Numbers installed.

Configuration

You can configure the activity and its properties as follows:

• File (local path) - The path to the Apple Numbers spreadsheet file.
  • Use a File Resource - Switches to a file resource reference instead of a plain path. You can browse for a file in either mode; this only changes how the reference is stored.
  • Use Local File - Switches back to the plain path field, restoring your previous value.
• Sheet - The name of the sheet containing the target table, for example, Sheet1.
• Range - The cell range in A1 notation to format, for example, B2:D5, or a single cell, for example, A1.

Input

• Table name - The name of the table to format. Omit to target the first table on the sheet.

Options

• Formatting - A base CellFormat object, for example, one from the Get Cell Format activity. Its non-empty properties are applied, and the individual overrides below take precedence.
• Font name - The font family name. The list contains common fonts, such as Helvetica Neue, Arial, Times New Roman, Georgia, Verdana, Trebuchet MS, Gill Sans, Futura, Courier New, and Menlo, and is not exhaustive. To use any other installed font, pass its exact name as a string, for example, Optima.
• Font size - The font size in points, for example, 12.
• Text color - The text color, selected through the color picker.
• Text color (hex) - The text color as a hex string, for example, #FF0000. This is an alternate input mode for Text color.
• Background color - The cell background color, selected through the color picker.
• Background color (hex) - The cell background color as a hex string, for example, #FFFF00. This is an alternate input mode for Background color.
• Horizontal alignment - The horizontal text alignment. Select one of the following options:
  • Auto
  • Left
  • Center
  • Right
  • Justify
• Vertical alignment - The vertical text alignment. Select one of the following options:
  • Top
  • Middle
  • Bottom
• Wrap text - Whether text wraps within the cell. Select True or False.
• Number Format - The cell number format category. Select one of the following options:
  • Automatic - Numbers chooses the format automatically based on the cell content.
  • Numeric formats:
    • Number
    • Currency
    • Percent
    • Fraction
    • Scientific
  • Text and date formats:
    • Text
    • Date and time
    • Duration
  • UI control formats (Numbers only):
    • Checkbox
    • Pop-up menu
    • Slider
    • Stepper
    • Rating
  • Other formats: Numeral system

Output

• Success - Returns True if the formatting was applied successfully.
