Create Spreadsheet activity that creates a new Apple Numbers spreadsheet file in the specified folder.

Description

Creates a new Apple Numbers spreadsheet file in the specified folder.

This activity creates an empty .numbers file in an existing folder and returns it as a resource that you can pass to other Apple Numbers activities. You can optionally name the first sheet and choose how to handle an existing file with the same name.

Note:

This package only runs on macOS systems with Apple Numbers installed.

Configuration

You can configure the activity and its properties as follows:

• Folder path - The path to the folder where the new spreadsheet file is created. The folder must exist.
• File name - The name of the new file without extension, for example, Report. The .numbers extension is appended automatically — any extension you include here is kept as part of the name, for example Report.numbers becomes Report.numbers.numbers.

Options

• First sheet name - Optional name for the first sheet. Leave empty to keep the default sheet name from Numbers.
• Conflict resolution - What to do if a file already exists at the target path. Select one of the following options:
  • Overwrite - Deletes the existing file and creates a new one.
  • Don't Replace - Throws an exception. This is the default option.
  • Rename - Appends a numeric suffix to create a unique file name, for example, Report 2.numbers.

Output

• Spreadsheet - The created spreadsheet file as a resource. Can be passed directly to other Apple Numbers activities.
