Export Spreadsheet activity that exports an Apple Numbers spreadsheet to Excel or PDF format.

Description

Exports an Apple Numbers spreadsheet to Microsoft Excel or PDF format.

This activity converts a source .numbers file to Excel (.xlsx) or PDF and returns the exported file as a resource that you can pass to other activities. You can control the output name, folder, and how to handle an existing output file.

Note:

This package only runs on macOS systems with Apple Numbers installed.

Configuration

You can configure the activity and its properties as follows:

• File (local path) - The path to the source Apple Numbers file to export.
  • Use a File Resource - Switches to a file resource reference instead of a plain path. You can browse for a file in either mode; this only changes how the reference is stored.
  • Use Local File - Switches back to the plain path field, restoring your previous value.

Options

• Format - The output format. Select one of the following options:
  • Excel - Exports to an Excel (.xlsx) file. This is the default option.
  • PDF - Exports to a PDF file.
• Output folder path - The folder where the exported file is saved. Defaults to the same folder as the source file.
• Output file name - The name of the exported file without extension. Defaults to the source file name. Any extension you provide is ignored.
• Conflict resolution - What to do if the output file already exists. Select one of the following options:
  • Overwrite - Replaces the existing file.
  • Don't Replace - Throws an exception. This is the default option.
  • Rename - Appends a numeric suffix to create a unique file name, for example, Report 2.xlsx.

Output

• Exported file - The exported file as a resource. Can be passed directly to other Apple Numbers activities.
