Save Document As

UiPath.Word.Activities.WordSaveAs

Description

Saves a Word file added to the project as a different file. You can specify the file name and the Word file type to save as. This activity must be added inside a Use Word File activity.

Configuring the Activity

In the Body of the Activity
  • Save as type - Select the type of Word file to save as: Word Document (.docx), Word Macro-Enabled Document (.docm), Word 97-2003 Document (.doc), Web Page (.html, .html), Web Page, Filtered (.htm, .html), Rich Text (*.rtf), or Plain Text (.txt).
  • Save as file - Click Browse  next to the field, and then browse to the folder where to save the file and enter the file name. Alternatively, you can indicate the full path of the file to save as by using one of the options in the Plus  menu on the right side of the field:

    • Data from the Project Notebook, a parent Excel file or Outlook account. For example, select an Excel file, and then select a cell that contains a file path.
    • Use Saved Value - Select a value in the form of a file path that you previously saved for later use in the project.
    • Text - Enter a file path in the Text Builder.
    • Ask when run - Prompt for a file path when the project is executed.
    • Paste from clipboard - Paste a value in the form of a file path that you previously copied to the clipboard in the project.
    • Open in Advanced Editor - Enter a VB expression.
  • Replace existing - If selected, the new file replaces any existing file with the same name. If not selected, an error occurs if a file with the same name already exists. This option is selected by default.

  • DisplayName - The name displayed for the activity in the Designer panel.

  • See the options in the body of the activity.

Misc

  • Private - If selected, the values of variables and arguments are no longer logged at Verbose level.
