Delete Range

UiPath.MicrosoftOffice.Activities.Excel.DeleteRange

Deletes a specified range of cells and shifts the remaining cells up or left.

Note

Before using the Delete Range activity, you must get the DriveItem resource that represents the workbook you're going to use.

  • To get the DriveItem resource, execute either the Find Files and Folders activity or Create Workbook activity and use the output property (e.g., First, Results, Workbook) variable as the Workbook input property (described below) value for this activity.

  • For more information, see DriveItem in the Microsoft Graph REST API documentation.

Properties

Common

  • DisplayName - The display name of the activity.

Input

  • Range - String - Specifies the range of cells that you want to delete.
    • Default value: "A1"
    • Allowed values: Enter your range in A1-style notation.
      • For example, if you have data in cells A1:C4, and you enter "A1:B3" as your Range, the data in cells A1:B3 is deleted and the data in cells A4, B4, and C1:C4 remains.

Note

The Delete Range activity does not delete cells that are included in formulas used in other cells. For example, if your Range is "A1:B3" and a cell outside that range (e.g., D4) contains a formula SUM(B3, B4), B3 will not be deleted.

  • SheetName - String - The name of the sheet where you want to delete the range of cells.
    • Default value: "Sheet1"
  • Shift - Drop-down list - Indicates whether you want to shift the remaining cells after deleting the specified Range.
    • Allowed values: Select one of the following values from the drop-down list:
      • None - The data in the cells located outside of the Range is unchanged and the remaining cells are left blank.
        • For example, if your Range value is "A1:B3", the data in cells A4, B4, and C1:C4 is unchanged (see Shift Examples below).
      • Up - The data in the cells located below the Range is moved up to populate the remaining cells.
        • For example, if your Range value is "A1:B3", the data in cells A4 and B4 is moved to A1 and B1, while the data in C1:C4 is unchanged (see Shift Examples below).
      • Left - The data in the cells located to the right of the Range is moved left to populate the remaining cells.
        • For example, if your Range value is "A1:B3", the data in cells C1, C2, and C3 is moved to A1, A2, and A3, while the data in A4, B4 and C4 is unchanged (see Shift Examples below).
  • Workbook - DriveItem - The workbook that includes the specified SheetName.

Misc

  • Private - If selected, the values of variables and arguments are no longer logged at Verbose level.
