Log Message

UiPath.Core.Activities.LogMessage

Description

Writes the specified diagnostic message at the specified level. These messages are also sent to Orchestrator and displayed in the Logs page.

Note: If any Add Log Fields activities are used prior to this activity, the extra custom fields coming from those activities are also appended to the logs.
Note: Due to internal changes, this activity will no longer be visible in the Favorites list when upgrading to v20.4 or newer, if it was added to the Favorites list with a v19.4 or older version of UiPath.System.Activities.

Cross-platform configuration

  • Message - The message you want to log. Depending on the option selected from the Log Level drop-down list, the message is displayed only at that severity level. Only strings and String variables are supported. Strings need to be placed between quotation marks.

  • DisplayName - The display name of the activity.

Log

  • LogLevel - The severity level of the message to be logged. The following options are available: Trace, Info, Warn, Error, and Fatal. Additional information can be found on the Logging and Log Levels page.
  • Message - The message you want to log. Depending on the option selected from the LogLevel drop-down list, the message is displayed only at that severity level. Only strings and String variables are supported. Strings need to be placed between quotation marks.
    Note: Starting with the v2019.10 release, the default communication channel between the Robot Executor and the Robot Service has changed from WCF to IPC. When this happened, a fixed upper limit of 10000 characters was introduced.
Misc
  • Private - If selected, the values of variables and arguments are no longer logged at Verbose level.
