Text to Left/Right

UiPath.Core.Activities.TextToLeftRight

Description

Retrieves the text to the left and right of the first occurrence of the indicated subtext.

Properties

Common

  • DisplayName - The display name of the activity.

Input

  • Full Text - The text you want to perform the split operation on. This field supports only strings and String variables.
  • Separator - The string you want to use as a separator. The text that is to the left and to the right of the string provided in this property field is retrieved. The separator itself is not included in the output result. This field supports only strings and String variables.

Misc

  • Private - If selected, the values of variables and arguments are no longer logged at Verbose level.

Options

  • Case sensitive separator - Specifies if the separator should be case sensitive. By default, this check box is selected.

Output

  • Save text to left as - The variable in which you want to save the text that is to the left of the separator. This field supports only strings and String variables.
  • Save text to right as - The variable in which you want to save the text that is to the right of the separator. This field supports only strings and String variables.

Description

Retrieves the text to the left and right of the first occurrence of the indicated subtext.

Configuring the Activity

In the Body of the Activity

  • Full text - The text you want to perform the split operation on. Click Plus plus button on the right side of the field and then, from the menu, choose one of the available options to indicate the text to add:
    • Text from the Project Notebook, a parent Excel file or email account. For example, select an Excel file and then select a cell, or indicate a field from a selected email in Outlook that contains the text.
    • Ask when run - Prompt for a text when the project is executed.
    • Paste from clipboard - Paste a text value that you previously copied to the clipboard in the project.
    • Text - Enter text in the Text Builder.
    • Use Saved Value - Select text output from another activity that you previously saved for later use in the project.
    • Open in Advanced Editor - Enter a VB expression.
  • Separator -  The text you want to use as a separator. The text that is to the left and to the right of the separator provided in this field is retrieved.   • Save text to right as - The location where to save the text that is on the right of the separator. See the description in the body of the activity.
