Extract/Unzip Files

Description

Extracts all the contents of a zip file archive to a specified folder.

Cross-platform configuration

  • File to extract - The zip file from which to extract all files. You can toggle between using a local path or a variable of IResource type. If you are using a local path, relative folder paths are recommended to account for the different file structure between Windows and Linux machines when executing a project. Example: newFolder/otherFolder.
Advanced options

Options

  • Extract to dedicated folder - If selected, the contents of the zip file are extracted to a folder with the zip file name that is created in the destination folder. If not selected, the contents are extracted directly to the destination folder. This option is selected by default.
  • Password - If the file is password protected, specify the required password.
  • Name encoding - Select the encoding for the file names. The System default encoding is selected by default.

Output

  • Extracted Files - Reference to the extracted files for use in other activities.

  • DisplayName - The name displayed for the activity in the Designer panel.
Input
  • Destination Folder - Contents will be extracted to this folder.
  • Extract to dedicated folder - If selected, the contents of the zip file are extracted to a folder with the zip file name that is created in the destination folder. If not selected, the contents are extracted directly to the destination folder. This option is selected by default.
  • File - The zip file from which to extract all files, as a lResource variable.
  • File to extract - The zip file from which to extract all files, as a string variable.
Misc
  • Private - If selected, the values of variables and arguments are no longer logged at Verbose level.

Options

  • Name encoding - Select the encoding for the file names. The System default encoding is selected by default.
  • Password - If the file is password protected, specify the required password.
  • Skip unsupported files - If selected, all supported files are extracted and files that are not supported are skipped. If not selected, an error occurs when an unsupported file cannot be extracted. Files compressed using the following methods cannot be extracted: Deflate64, PPMd, and XZ.

Output

  • Extracted contents folder - Reference to the folder containing the extracted content.
  • Extracted Files - Reference to the extracted files.
Note: Empty string are not supported for paths, you should either leave them blank or pass in a separator such as "\" instead of "".
