Start Process

UiPath.Oracle.IntegrationCloud.Process.Activities.StartProcessActivity

The Start Process activity uses the Oracle Integration Create Process Instance API to start a specific process (Process) with the specified input/output arguments (Edit Arguments).

After completing the post operation, the activity outputs the Int32 process identifier (Process Id) along with the API call status (Status) and response message (Response Message).
Note: At this time, only processes with the start type of "NONE" can be started using this activity.

How it works

The following steps and message sequence diagram is an example of how the activity works from design time (i.e., the activity dependencies and input/output properties) to run time.

  1. Complete the Setup steps.
  2. Add the Oracle Process Scope activity to your project.
  3. Add the Start Process activity inside the Oracle Process Scope activity.
  4. Use the Select Process wizard to select the process and enter any input/output arguments for the process using the Edit Arguments window.
  5. Create and enter a Int32 variable and String variables for the Output properties.
  6. Run the activity.

    • Your input properties are sent to the Create Process Instance API .
    • The API returns the Int32 and String values to your output property variables.

In the Body of the Activity

The Oracle OIC activities include wizards to test your connection (Connection Wizard) and select a process (Select Process). Currently, only this activity requires the use of the wizards.

  • Process - The name of the process that you want to start. This field supports only String variables.
    • For a process to appear in the Select Process wizard, it must have an API role that starts it.
    • For more information, see API Role and Message Start event in the Setup guide.
  • Select Process - To select a process:

    • Click Select Process (this opens the select process wizard or connection wizard if you need to connect to your Oracle Integration instance). If the connection wizard opens, enter your credentials and click Test Connection (the select process wizard automatically opens after a successful connection).
    • Highlight the process that you want to start and click Select. Only processes that include an API role are included in the Select Process list.

Properties

Common
  • DisplayName - The display name of the activity. This field supports only Strings or String variables.
Misc
  • Private - If selected, the values of variables and arguments are no longer logged at Verbose level.
Output
  • Process Id - Specified the Id of the process instance to the action. Enter a DataTable variable The table below shows the process details included in the DataTable object.
  • Response Message - The API response message. Enter a String variable.
  • Status - The status of the request. Enter a String variable. Possible values are Success or Failure.
