Send Via Email

UiPath.Smartsheet.Activities.SendViaEmail

Uses the Smartsheet Send via Email API to send a sheet, rows, or report via email natively from within Smartsheet.

How it works

The following steps are an example of how the activity works from design time (i.e., the activity dependencies and input/output properties) to run time.

  1. Complete the Setup steps.
  2. Add the Smartsheet Application Scope activity to your project.
  3. Add the Send via Email activity inside the Smartsheet Application Scope activity.
  4. Create an enter values for the Input properties.
  5. Create and enter values for either the Send Report, Send Sheet, or Send Row properties.
  6. Create and enter an ResponseStatus variable for the Output property.

In the Body of the Activity

  • Subject - The message subject. Enter a String or String variable.
  • Send To - A list of email addresses to send the message to. Enter a String[] or String[] variable.
  • Message - The message body. Enter a String or String variable.
  • Cc Me - True if you want to be cc'd on the message. Enter a Boolean or Boolean variable.
  • Resource Type - The type that needs to be shared in email. The following options are available: Rows, Sheet, Report.
  • Sheet Id - The id of the sheet to send. Enter a Int64 or Int64 variable.
  • Format - The format of the report. Select one options from the drop-down list: Excel, PDF, PDF_GANTT.
  • Paper size - Paper size, only used if using a PDF. Select an options from the drop-down list: LETTER, LEGAL, WIDE, ARCHD, A4, A3, A2, A1, A0.
  • Report Id - The id of the report to send. Enter a Int64[] or Int64[] variable.
  • Row Ids - The Ids of the rows to send. Enter a Int64[] or Int64[] variable.
  • Column Ids - The Ids of the columns to send. Enter a Int64[] or Int64[] variable.
  • Include Attachments - If you want to include attachments. Enter a boolean or boolean variable.
  • Include Discussions - If you want to include discussions. Enter a boolean or boolean variable.

Properties

Common
  • DisplayName - The display name of the activity. This field supports only Strings or String variables.
Misc
  • Private - If selected, the values of variables and arguments are no longer logged at Verbose level.
Output
  • ResponseStatus - The status of the request (success/failure information). Enter a ResponseStatus variable (UiPath.BAF.Models.ResponseStatus). The ResponseStatus object includes three properties that you can use in other activities.
    • Success - Boolean - Specifies whether the API request was successful.
    • ErrorCode - String - The response error if the API request is unsuccessful (Success=False).
    • Message - String - The error message.
