Setting values for URL custom fields
Add, change, or remove the URL and display text of a URL custom field on a requirement, test case, or test set in Test Manager.
Set the URL and optional display text of a custom field of type URL on a requirement, test case, or test set. Test Manager shows the display text as a clickable link, or the URL itself when no display text is set.
Note:
The URL custom field type is available in Test Manager only when delivered via Test Cloud.
Prerequisites
- A custom field of type URL assigned to the object type you want to edit. For more information, refer to Creating custom fields.
Add or change a value
Enter or update the URL and the optional display text of the field on an object.
- Open the requirement, test case, or test set and go to its Details section.
- Select the pencil icon next to the URL field. For a requirement, the editor opens in a side panel.
- In the URL field, enter the link. The URL is required.
- (Optional) In the Display text field, enter the text to show instead of the URL.
- Select Save.
Selecting the link opens the URL in a new browser tab. Fields with no value show Unspecified.
Remove a value
Clear the field so that it no longer links anywhere.
- Select the pencil icon next to the URL field.
- Delete both the URL and the Display text entries.
- Select Save.
The field goes back to Unspecified.
