Creating steps from Task Capture recording
Add recorded Task Capture steps as manual steps to a test case using the step titles and descriptions from the Process Definition Document (PDD) file.
When you use the Document with Task Capture feature, you can also add any recorded steps as manual steps to a test case.
Context
- For each step in the recording, a manual step is added to the test case, using the step title and description from the Process Definition Document (PDD) file. In contrast, if the step titles are empty, the manual step title is set to
Unnamed. - Any new steps that you create from a recording are added to any preexisting steps.
- You can also use the Sync button from the header panel in Task Capture to export the workflow directly to your Test Manager location.
Prerequisites
- You need to have a test case documented with Task Capture.
Steps
- Open a test case on the Test Cases page.
- Navigate to the Manual Steps tab.
- Select Create steps from recording and then confirm your action when prompted.
Result
The recorded steps are added as manual steps to the test case, and a confirmation message appears when the process completes.
