Disabling governance at test-case level

Disable governance at the individual test case level in Test Manager to remove governance controls and signature requirements for that object.

If you want to disable governance for an object, you can do so at any time. When you disable governance at object level, the Governance tab becomes disabled.

Prerequisites

To disable testing process governance, you must hold the Test Manager Administrator role, the Test Governance Administrator role, the Project Owner role or be assigned the Test Process Governance permission.

Steps

  1. Go to Test Cases.
  2. Open a test case.
  3. In the upper, left-hand side corner of the object, toggle off the Governed option. The Governance tab is disabled. You can re-enable governance on an object and resume the governance process.

Disabling governance on a test case does not affect the test case logs already generated for it. Once a test case log is governed, it becomes a disjoint entity from its parent test case, so its governance must be disabled directly on the log if that is what you intend. For more information, refer to Disabling governance at test case log level. New logs generated after governance is disabled on the test case are not governed.

To disable governance for multiple test cases at once instead of one at a time, see Enabling or disabling governance in bulk for test cases.

Result

Governance is disabled for the test case. The Governance tab is disabled and the test case is no longer subject to approval requirements.
