Setting up UiPath for Coding Agents
Install the Test Manager tool so your coding agent can run uip tm commands to publish automations, generate reports, and bring in Playwright suites.
Set up a coding agent to work with Test Manager through uip tm commands.
Prerequisites
- UiPath CLI installed and authenticated. See Install and set up in the Coding Agents documentation.
- UiPath skills installed for your coding agent. See Install and set up for the install command per agent.
- If you plan to bring in an existing Playwright suite, Playwright must already be installed locally in that project using npm (a
package-lock.jsonmust be present). This flow packages the suite as-is and does not install Playwright for you.
Steps
-
Install the Test Manager tool:
uip tools install @uipath/test-manager-tooluip tools install @uipath/test-manager-toolOr invoke any
uip tmcommand and let auto-install run.Note:After a CLI upgrade, run
uip skills update --agent <name>to pick up newly published Test Manager skills.
Result
Your coding agent can run uip tm commands. Three skills are available through the uipath-test skill bundle:
| Skill | What it does |
|---|---|
| Publish and link automation | Packs a UiPath project, uploads it to Orchestrator, and binds it to a test case so it can be triggered from Test Manager. |
| Test report generation | Fetches test executions from a test set and generates a persona-tailored report for quality assurance (QA) engineers, developers, and Release Managers. |
| Bring an existing Playwright suite into Test Manager | Brings an existing Playwright suite into Test Manager end to end (no code changes) and reports pass, fail, and skip results, including a fix-and-re-run loop for failures. |
For details about bringing in a Playwright suite, see Playwright test automation with the uipath-test skill.
