Live streaming and remote controlling
Live streaming and remote control let you watch and interact with a running test execution without pausing it.
You can view the live stream of a robot running a test execution and, if needed, take control of the execution with your own mouse and keyboard, without pausing the test. This helps you troubleshoot and debug more efficiently, reducing manual interventions and time to resolution.
Feature availability depends on the cloud platform you use. For details, see the Test Manager feature availability page.
This capability is available only in Test Manager delivered via Test Cloud.
The capabilities are disabled by default and must be enabled at the test set or test execution level.
Prerequisites
Your Test Manager role must have the following permissions:
- TestSets.Edit: To enable live streaming and remote controlling.
- View live stream of automated executions: To watch the test execution.
- Remotely control live stream of automated executions: To control the test execution remotely.
By default, the Test Manager project role has the View live stream of automated executions permission. But to remotely control the live stream, a Test Manager Administrator must manually assign this permission to users via a custom role.
