A) Full migration

The full migration is one of two ways in which you can migrate a standalone UiPath® product to Automation Suite. This method helps you migrate Orchestrator and other products and services. For more information, see Migration options.

The full migration option supports the following scenarios:

  • Migrate a standalone product to a new Automation Suite installation. This means that you do not have any products installed via Automation Suite yet, and you migrate your standalone products to a new Automation Suite instance.

    Note:

We tested this scenarios for Orchestrator, Action Center, and Test Automation, which share the same database, as well as with Insights.

  • Migrate a standalone product to a pre-existing Automation Suite installation. This means that you previously installed products via Automation Suite, and you now want to migrate more standalone products.

    Note:
    • If Orchestrator is among the products you previously installed in Automation Suite, note that the connection string is re-pointed to the restored standalone database, which leaves the original database still intact, but disconnected.
    • If you want to migrate standalone Insights to a pre-existing Automation Suite installation, make sure that Orchestrator is already enabled.

The full migration options also ensures high-fidelity data transfer between the standalone product databases and the automatically created Automation Suite databases. If you do not want to use the default Automation Suite databases, you can opt for your own migrated databases provided that you update their connection strings.

To migrate from a standalone deployment to Automation Suite, take the following steps:
