Most SQL connectors use CData Sync to extract data from the source system and to store it in the SQL Server database.
Installing CData Sync
Typically, CData Sync is installed on a server such that all developers have access to the same CData Sync instance. See Separate development and production environments for more information on the advised setup.
You can download CData Sync from the CData Sync download webpage. For information on installing and running CData Sync, see the official CData Sync - Getting Started documentation.
After successful installation of CData Sync:
- Create a user account for each developer.
- Set up CData Sync to run as a service, to make sure CData Sync automatically starts up when booting the machine. See Running CData Sync as a service.
- Set up CData Sync to be run with scripts. See Running CData Sync with scripts.
To set up an extraction using CData Sync, see CData Sync extractions.
