Browser Extensions

UiPath browser extensions for automating Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari directly from the browser, with links to each extension's setup documentation in the Studio user guide.

Browser Extension is a browser automation method that injects the UiPath extension into the target browser to interact with web pages directly. The extension runs inside the browser, identifies UI elements on the page, and reports element information back to the Robot, so UI Automation activities can act on those elements.

This method provides the richest automation coverage among the available browser automation methods and is compatible with all four major supported browsers: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari. It is the default browser automation method, and the recommended choice for attended automation, where the Robot works with a browser session the user already has open.

Available browser extensions

UiPath provides a dedicated browser extension for each supported browser. Installation and setup steps for each extension are documented in the Studio user guide:

In Studio, extensions are installed and managed from Home (Backstage View) > Tools > UiPath Extensions.
