Combo charts
Combo charts that show a line metric and a bar metric over time in one chart, each with its own axis, to compare metrics with different scales.
Introduction
Combo charts can be used to compare two metrics with different scales over time, for example a number of events and an average case value. A combo chart shows a line metric and a bar metric in a single chart. The following illustration shows an example of a combo chart.
The line metric uses the y-axis on the left, and the bar metric uses the y-axis on the right. If you add more than one line metric or bar metric, business users can switch between them using the Line and Bar selectors above the chart. By default, the first line metric and the first bar metric are displayed.
Rows that have no value for the field on the x-axis are not shown in the chart. A message in the chart indicates this.
Properties
You can edit the properties of a combo chart in the Edit combo chart panel.
The following table describes the properties of the Combo chart.
| Element | Description |
|---|---|
| Title | Text box that lets you edit the title of the combo chart. |
| Tooltip | Text box that lets you add a tooltip that is displayed when a user points to the chart title in the published process app. |
| Select field shown on the x-axis | Combo box that lets you select the field for which you want to display the values on the x-axis. You can select a date/time field or the Timeframe filter. When a business user selects a different timeframe, the x-axis on the chart changes accordingly. |
| Line metrics | List of metrics to be displayed as a line, on the y-axis on the left. Use the Add line metric option to select multiple metrics to be available from the Line selector. |
| Bar metrics | List of metrics to be displayed as bars, on the y-axis on the right. Use the Add bar metric option to select multiple metrics to be available from the Bar selector. |
