Organization Level Roles

There are 3 roles available for the users at organization level:

  • Organization Owner - The person who initially signed up for UiPath Automation Cloud. This role grants permissions to every organization or service level feature. There can be only one organization owner. The organization owner cannot be changed and the user with this role cannot be deleted.
  • Organization Administrator - This role grants access to all organization level features. A user with this role can perform all administrative actions at organization level, like creating or updating services, requesting or renewing licenses, managing users, viewing audit logs and so on. There can be multiple users with this role.
  • User - This is the default role assigned to people invited to join the organization. Unless edited by organization owners or organization administrators, this role grants read-only access to just a few functionalities, such as Resource Center, Licenses, Users or Services. Organization Owners or Organization Administrators must add Users to a service in order to grant them full access to that service.

See here a mapping between some of the most common user actions and the default roles in Automation Cloud:

Note:

Organization Administrator and User roles don't grant access by default to any of the organization's Orchestrator services. You must be added to a service in order to access it. As an Organization Administrator or Organization Owner, you can grant yourself access to services, but the User role does not permit that.

You are granted access by default to all the services created by you (as Organization Owner or Organization Administrator). If others need access to a service, remember to add them.

Service Level Roles

Roles are specific for every Orchestrator service and you can view them directly on the Roles page within that service.

There is only one default role available for the users at Orchestrator service level:

  • Administrator - A user with this role can access a specific Orchestrator service and can perform administration actions associated with that service, such as managing machines, robots, processes, jobs, packages, queues, environments, schedules and so on. Find more details on the Administrator's permissions at Orchestrator level here.

Note:

Your Orchestrator is on Automation Cloud, therefore, at service level you have only View permissions on Licenses and Users. Perform licenses and user management at Cloud Portal level.

Users with the Administrator role can create additional roles within an Orchestrator service if needed. Any changes in the roles in an Orchestrator service are reflected in your Automation Cloud organization, in the corresponding Services page, and in the Invite Users window.
