The UiPath Orchestrator Guide

2019 Fast Track 2.0

2019 Fast Track 2.8.1

Release date: 8 October 2019

 What’s New

You probably know the saying “Don’t judge a book by its cover”. Well, sometimes appearances matter. In this case, it’s important that our app has the same visual identity as our company. Therefore, we’ve updated the pages throughout the Orchestrator Mobile app with the new colors and logo. The app icon is also new, we hope you like it!

2019 Fast Track 2.8

Release date: 30 September 2019

 What’s New

Good news! We’ve come up with a new release of our app designed to further improve your experience. Favorite Processes, a new feature built especially for our Mobile App, enables you to mark your frequently used processes in order to quickly find and run them at a later time.

Your favorite processes become easy to spot on the Select Process page when starting or scheduling a job, as they are marked with a FavoriteStarFilledFavoriteStarFilled icon, and are displayed at the top of the list.

Both the Processes and the new Quick Actions pages let you mark your favorite processes. You can reorder them at any time through a simple drag & drop, or remove them from your favorites by clicking the FavoriteStarFilledFavoriteStarFilled icon once again.

All the relevant information about favorite processes is securely stored locally on your mobile device, in an encrypted database. Deleting the app, then re-installing it results in losing your favorites.
Using this new feature is subject to the permissions your user has within Orchestrator. Click here to read more about favorite processes.

We have also prepared our app to support the newly launched iOS13.

Note: The apps are released following a staged roll out process that adheres to safe deployment practices. Each day the app is available to an increasing percentage of users. The actual users are defined randomly by Apple & Google. The app becomes available to all users 7 days after the initial release date.

 Bug Fixes

We all know that even good things can be made better. Such is the case with our Orchestrator Mobile app. We’ve spent these last few weeks refining some of its less perfect bits, to make your experience more agreeable. Here are some of the more notable improvements:

  • We fixed an issue that sometimes caused push notifications to be sent to your device in several smaller batches, instead of one larger batch. Now you can spend less time checking your phone for every notification that requires your attention.
  • On Android devices, the content displayed on your Dashboard failed to automatically refresh if you switched between organization units. We corrected this issue.
  • In some cases the status bar for the phone could stretch down and cover part of the UI on the side navigation. This doesn't happen anymore.
  • We solved a text overlapping issue occurring when the app was localized in Russian.
  • There was a bug in the iOS app that caused slower re-launch times after the app stayed open for a while and many pages had been viewed. This was fixed, resulting in decreased iOS app load time after launching it from a backgrounded state.
  • There was an error that prevented your selection from being properly populated on the Execution target page while editing a schedule.
  • The Next button at the bottom of the Select Robots page was repositioned within the safe area of your iPhone X-series devices.

Note: The apps are released following a staged roll out process that adheres to safe deployment practices. Each day the app is available to an increasing percentage of users. The actual users are defined randomly by Apple & Google. The app becomes available to all users 7 days after the initial release date.

2019 Fast Track 2.5

Release date: 29 July 2019

What’s New

In our continuous quest to improve your experience with our app, we came up with a new release with added functionality aimed to ease your work.

The newly added Restart Job feature saves you valuable time by enabling you to quickly run a job from the jobs list, without having to go through the start job flow. You’ll be glad to know that you can restart any job with a final state – Stopped, Faulted, or Successful. The decision to modify the previous settings of the job lies in your hands. Please keep in mind that you can change the job’s input parameters and robots and that you can’t restart jobs triggered by an agent.

Restart your jobs from the Jobs or Job Detail pages.

This release also brings you a clear picture of the Cloud Platform Orchestrator services currently available to you, so that you know from the Select Service page whether you have access or not to a specific service.

Note: The apps are released following a staged roll out process that adheres to safe deployment practices. Each day the app is available to an increasing percentage of users. The actual users are defined randomly by Apple & Google. The app becomes available to all users 7 days after the initial release date.

2019 Fast Track 2.4.1

Release date: 15 July 2019

Bug Fixes

Having examined closely the app for the last few weeks, our developers decided that some well-deserved bug fixes would make your experience more agreeable. Here are some of the more notable improvements:

  • Less typing is required on your side when switching tenants after clicking on a push notification. In the Login page, the tenant name is automatically filled in according to the tenant in the selected notification. Remember, push notification is only available for on-premise users.
  • We’ve tweaked the look of the Input / Output arrays & objects in the Job Details page to match the way they are displayed in your web-based Orchestrator.
  • Sorting your Robots by Status returns the same results whether you’re using the app or the web-based Orchestrator. Only the web version used to display unresponsive robots before, but now the app also does that.
  • In the same spirit, we made sure that the Licenses page displays the Host license type correctly on mobile as well.

Note: The apps are released following a staged rollout process that adheres to safe deployment practices. Each day the app is available to an increasing percentage of users. The actual users are defined randomly by Apple & Google. The app becomes available to all users 7 days after the initial release date.

2019 Fast Track 2.3

Release date: 18 June 2019

What’s New

This release enriches the functionality pool of our Orchestrator Mobile, allowing you to schedule jobs from the app. Beyond starting a job, you now have the ability to schedule your jobs directly from your mobile device, specifying the same details about your new schedule as in our web-based Orchestrator. Remember that newly created schedules are enabled by default.

Find detailed information about scheduling a job here. Keep in mind though that our app does not allow you to define a cron expression as Trigger.

Note: The apps are released following a staged roll out process that adheres to safe deployment practices. Each day the app is available to an increasing percentage of users. The actual users are defined randomly by Apple & Google. The app becomes available to all users 7 days after the initial release date.

2019 Fast Track 2.2.1

Release date: 3 June 2019

What’s New

Exciting times! With the launch of the UiPath Cloud Platform in Public Preview this week, all Community members’ accounts were migrated to it. If you are an Enterprise user, fret not, as your account has not changed.

For this release, our Orchestrator Mobile team has been extra busy implementing an authentication solution to support the login to your UiPath Cloud Platform account. The Landing page lets you choose the account you wish to access:

  • On-Premises Server - for your self-hosted Orchestrator.
  • UiPath Cloud Platform - for your new cloud account hosted by UiPath.

Depending on the selected option, you are redirected to a specific login flow, resulting in access to your desired account.

Along with minor bug fixes, we made sure that this release also brings you something new in the UI. Input Values and Output Values, the 2 newly added fields provide additional information within the Job Detail page. Select any of them to display relevant parameters and values.

Note: The apps are released following a staged roll out process that adheres to safe deployment practices. Each day the app is available to an increasing percentage of users. The actual users are defined randomly by Apple & Google. The app becomes available to all users 7 days after the initial release date.
