Installing the extension
Installing the UiPath Extension for Citrix lets you automate Citrix Apps natively. Install it from UiPath Studio or the Command Prompt.
Automating Citrix Workspace v2409 or newer requires UiPath.UiAutomation.Activities v24.10.11 or newer.
Prerequisites
Install the Citrix client per machine — either Citrix Receiver or Citrix Workspace.
From UiPath Studio
- Open UiPath Studio.
- Navigate to Home > Tools > UiPath Extensions.
- Select Citrix > Install. A confirmation dialog box is displayed.
- Restart all your Citrix applications for the changes to take effect.
Result: The UiPath Extension for Citrix is installed.
From the Command Prompt
- Select the Windows Start button.
- Enter
cmdin the search field. - Open the context menu for Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
- Change the directory to the UiPath installation folder:
cd C:\Program Files\UiPath\Studio\UiPathfor per-machine installationscd %localappdata%\Programs\UiPath\Studio\UiPathfor per-user installations
- Run the
SetupExtensions /CitrixClientcommand to install the extension. A confirmation dialog box is displayed. - Restart all your Citrix applications for the changes to take effect.
Result: The UiPath Extension for Citrix is installed.
To generate native selectors for Citrix technology, you also need to deploy the UiPath Remote Runtime component on all your Citrix Application servers. For more information, see About the UiPath Remote Runtime.
The UiPathRemoteRuntime.msi installer is available from Product Downloads in the UiPath Customer Portal or from Download Center in the UiPath Automation Cloud.
Uninstalling the extension
From UiPath Studio
- Close all your running Citrix Apps.
- Open UiPath Studio.
- Navigate to Home > Tools > UiPath Extensions.
- Select Citrix > Uninstall and confirm your choice.
Result: The UiPath Extension for Citrix is uninstalled.
From the Command Prompt
- Close all your running Citrix Apps.
- Select the Windows Start button.
- Enter
cmdin the search field. - Open the context menu for Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
- Change the directory to the UiPath installation folder:
cd C:\Program Files\UiPath\Studio\UiPathfor per-machine installationscd %localappdata%\Programs\UiPath\Studio\UiPathfor per-user installations
- Run the
SetupExtensions /CitrixClient /uninstallcommand to uninstall the extension. A confirmation dialog box is displayed.
