UiPath Orchestrator Guide

Activating and Uploading Your License

After receiving a license code from our sales support team you need to perform the following steps to activate it and upload it to Orchestrator:

  1. Install the UiPath Studio and/or Robot on your machine.
  2. Open the Command Prompt as an administrator on the machine you installed a v2019.4 UiPath Robot or Studio.
  3. Change the directory to the installation path of the UiPath suite. For example, cd C:\Program Files (x86)\UiPath\Studio\UiPath.
  4. Activate your license using the Regutil tool by executing the following command: regutil activate /email=emailaddress /code=licensecode.
  5. Check if the license was activated using the regutil.exe get-info command. Starting with 18.1.3, the license expiry date is displayed in the Subscription expire date field.
  6. Export the license information to a file by executing the following command: regutil export-info /out_file=D:\license.txt. The file is saved to the indicated directory.

The output file can be of any type. If you do not provide a full path for the file, it is saved in the installation folder of the UiPath suite, cd C:\Program Files (x86)\UiPath\Studio\UiPath.

  1. In Orchestrator, navigate to the License page at tenant level or host level. The License page is displayed.
  2. Click Upload License. The Open window is displayed.
  3. Browse for the license file generated at step 6 and click Open. The information is uploaded to Orchestrator, and the License page now displays all the available licenses per type, and when they expire. For more information on how they are consumed, please see the About Licensing page.

For more information on Regutil commands, please see Regutil Command Descriptions.

Any changes made to your licenses from UiPath require you to activate and update the license again.
