Add File to Slide

UiPath.Presentations.Activities.InsertFile

Inserts a file from the disk to a slide and displays it as an icon. This activity must be added inside a Use PowerPoint Presentation activity.

Configuring the Activity

In the Body of the Activity
  • Presentation - Presentation in which to enter the file. In StudioX, click Plus docs image on the right side of the field, and then select the presentation file where to insert the specified file from the disk. Alternatively, you enter a VB expression.
  • Slide number - Slide number on which to insert the file (numbers begin with 1). In StudioX, click Plus on the right side of the field, and then select the slide number from the presentation file where to insert the file. Alternatively, use one of the other options in the menu to indicate the slide number:

    • Ask when run - Prompt for the name when the project is executed.
    • Number - Specify the number of the slide.
    • Open in Advanced Editor - Enter a VB expression.
  • Content placeholder - Placeholder (shape) on the slide where the file will be added. In StudioX, click Plus on the right side of the field, and then select the presentation file with the placeholder for the file.

    Alternatively, use one of the other options in the menu to indicate the placeholder name:

    • Ask when run - Prompt for the name when the project is executed.
    • Paste from clipboard - Paste a value that you previously copied to the clipboard in the project..
    • Text - Enter the name in the Text Builder.
    • Open in Advanced Editor - Enter a VB expression.
  • File to add - The path to the file to insert. Click Browse next to the field, and then browse to select the file to add. Alternatively, in StudioX, click Plus on the right side of the field, and then select one of the options in the menu to indicate the file to add:

    • Ask when run - Prompt for the name when the project is executed.
    • Paste from clipboard - Paste a value that you previously copied to the clipboard in the project..
    • Text - Enter the name in the Text Builder.
    • Open in Advanced Editor - Enter a VB expression.
  • Icon label - The caption used for the icon. By default the name of the file is used. In StudioX, click Plus on the right side of the field, and then select a presentation file that contains the icon label. Alternatively, use one of the other options in the menu to indicate the icon label:

    • Ask when run - Prompt for the icon label when the project is executed.
    • Paste from clipboard - Paste a value that you previously copied to the clipboard in the project..
    • Text - Enter the icon label in the Text Builder.
    • Use Saved Value - Select a value that you previously saved for later use in the project.
    • Open in Advanced Editor - Enter a VB expression.
  • New shape name - The new name of the content placeholder where the item is added. In StudioX, click Plus on the right side of the field, and then select a presentation file that contains the new name. Alternatively, use one of the other options in the menu to indicate the new name:

    • Ask when run - Prompt for the name when the project is executed.
    • Paste from clipboard - Paste a value that you previously copied to the clipboard in the project..
    • Text - Enter the name in the Text Builder.
    • Use Saved Value - Select a value that you previously saved for later use in the project.
    • Open in Advanced Editor - Enter a VB expression.

Common

  • DisplayName - The name displayed for the activity in the Designer panel.

Input

  • See the options in the body of the activity.

Misc

  • Private - If selected, the values of variables and arguments are no longer logged at Verbose level.
