New Entitlement for Developer Licenses

Now, users who have a developer-type user license assigned each get 300 robot units (RUs) every month to run cross-platform automations from their Personal Workspace using serverless robots.

These RUs are separate from the organization- and tenant-level pool of RUs and are only available to the user for running individual automations as specified.

If a user consumes their 300 RUs for the month, running further automations consumes RUs from the pool of their tenant.

For more information about licenses and entitlements, see About licensing and consumption information for robot units.

Licensing Changes

With this update, we are introducing two new licensing plans and retiring another.

The following changes are not subject to delayed release practices and are currently available to all organizations.

Pro plan

Customers who purchase licenses online, through self-service options available in Automation Cloud or from the UiPath website, are now upgraded to the new Pro plan.

In the past, this purchase method upgraded the organization to the Enterprise plan. Now, to upgrade to the Enterprise plan, you must contact Sales to purchase a custom licensing bundle.

For more information about the differences between these licensing plans, see Plans comparison.

Existing customers: If you have an active plan that you purchased online, you remain on the Enterprise plan until the end of your current billing cycle. If you renew your plan for another month, when the new cycle begins, you are upgraded to the Pro plan instead.

Pro Trial plan

Organizations that are on a free licensing plan and want to test more automation power and premium platform features can now request an upgrade to the Pro Trial plan for 60 days, free of charge.

While on this plan, the organization benefits from premium platform features that are available on the paid Pro plan, to evaluate how these can help with broader automation efforts.

Enterprise Trial plan

You can no longer request an Enterprise Trial from within Automation Cloud.

If you are interested in testing premium features, you can start a Pro Trial, or contact Sales.

Active trials: If you are currently on the Enterprise Trial plan, you remain on this plan until it expires.

Robot Units Online Purchase

You can now purchase robot units using online license purchase.

With online license purchase, robot units are available in 5k increments (5k, 10k, 15k, and so on), and the purchased quantity is available until your current billing cycle ends.

As opposed to other licenses, robot units do not benefit from pro-rating. This is because you have the ability to use up the entire quantity, regardless of how much time is left in your current plan.

Eligibility

You must be on the Community,Pro Trial, or on the Pro licensing plan to use this option.

Enterprise customers cannot use this option, but can contact Sales to purchase robot units, as was the case up to now.

As an exception, if you are currently on the Enterprise plan with licenses purchased online (soon to be on the Pro plan), you can buy robot units online.

When Can I See These Changes?

The date when a change is first announced in the release notes is the date when it first becomes available.

If you don't see the change yet, you can expect to see it soon, after we roll out changes to all the regions.

Deprecation Timeline

We recommend that you regularly check the deprecation timeline for any updates regarding features that will be deprecated and removed.
