- Release Notes
June 2020
- The error received when inviting an already existing user to your Automation Cloud organization was not localized for the Japanese language.
- Accessing AI Fabric from a tenant that didn't have the AI Fabric service enabled led to a misleading error message. We've
replaced it with a more meaningful message:
AI Fabric is not enabled for tenant <TenantName>.
Our continuous quest to provide effortless usage of Automation Cloud led to the makeover of our access control model. This brings a couple of changes in user management, nothing scary, just a couple of touch-ups meant to ease the entire experience, starting from inviting a user into your organization, ending with granting them specific access levels.
For this reason we provide four different user groups with specific access levels for their members. Although the groups come with predefined sets of permissions, these can be at any time customized according to your needs on a per-service basis. The access level of a user is relative to the group membership and also relative to the permission configuration made for that group in Orchestrator services.
- When a user tries to access certain services, the system makes an access-permit decision depending on the user's membership.
-
When a user tries to access or use certain resources in a service, the system makes an access-permit decision based on the roles of the user, which can be either inherited from the group or granted explicitly.
Obviously, you can still take advantage of the granularity in adding users individually to a service, provided the user has been added beforehand in your Automation Cloud organization. Remember this is now performed at service level, and not from the Automation Cloud portal.
- For the services created as of today, user groups are automatically created and come with the default set of permissions.
- For your preexisting services, you need to add and configure the user groups yourself in each service.
- If you don't want to harness the benefits of groups in your existing services, leave the users to the default vanilla group called Everyone, which by default doesn't have any specific access right to any service. Any permissions are managed individually for each user.
- You couldn't invite or manage users for services that had their licenses modified.
- Accepting an invite to an existing Automation Cloud organization while using Firefox browser in private mode resulted in signing up for a new organization.
- The Contact us link within the error page displayed when accessing AI Fabric from tenants without AI Fabric provisioning was broken.
Breaking down the barriers between RPA and data science teams, enabling you to build, deploy, and manage machine learning models and other AI skills, AI Fabric is here to stay. This game changer in your automation journey is now generally available and from now on you can take advantage of what it has to offer as an app in UiPath Automation Cloud.
To access the new app, use the AI Fabric link in the left navigation bar in Cloud Portal.
You can get started immediately with AI Fabric by signing up for an Enterprise Trial on UiPath Automation Cloud. If you already have an organization, request the Enterprise Trial licensing plan. Be sure to enable AI Fabric by allocating your trial AI Fabric licenses to a service. Preexisting AI Fabric licenses are already migrated and ready to be used, no need for further action on your part.
This bar makes it easier to navigate through Cloud Portal, as its sections allow for grouping the features based on your role:
- Home displays the Home page
- Admin displays the menus available in Cloud Portal until now (Services,Users,Licenses,Audit Logs, and Organization Settings), with their established functionalities
- AI Fabric opens the AI Fabric App, if you have allocated the necessary licenses to your selected service.
The User icon, which was moved to the top of the left navigation bar, now comes with a bonus: you can switch the tenant you want to access. This can come handy if you have AI Fabric enabled on more tenants.
Don't worry if you don't see the Resource Center menu in its usual place. Find it by clicking Help at the bottom of the left navigation bar.
Stay tuned, more goodies are on their way to Automation Cloud!
