Installing the Citrix Extension

By installing the UiPath Citrix Extension you are capable of automating Citrix Apps natively. It can be installed from Studio or the Command Prompt.

From UiPath Studio

  1. Access the Tools page from the Studio Backstage View. The extensions you can install become visible.
  2. Click the Citrix button. A confirmation dialog box is displayed.
  3. Restart all your Citrix applications for the changes to take effect. The UiPath Citrix extension is now installed.

From the Command Prompt

  1. Click the Windows Start button and type cmd in the search field.
  2. Right click on Command Prompt and run it as administrator.
  3. Change the directory to the UiPath installation folder (cd C:\Program Files (x86)\UiPath\Studio\UiPath).
  4. Use the SetupExtensions /CitrixClient command to install the extension. A confirmation dialog box is displayed.
  5. Restart all your Citrix applications for the changes to take effect. The UiPath Citrix extension is now installed.

Note:

To allow Native Citrix automation, you also need to deploy the UiPath Remote Runtime component on all your Citrix servers, as explained on this page. The UiPathRemoteRuntime.msi installer is obtained by requesting it here.

Uninstalling the Citrix Extension

  1. Close all your running Citrix Apps.
  2. Click the Windows Start button and type cmd in the search field.
  3. Right-click on Command Prompt and run it as administrator.
  4. Change the directory to the UiPath installation folder (cd C:\Program Files (x86)\UiPath\Studio\UiPath for Enterprise, cd %LocalAppData%\UiPath\app-19.x.x\UiPath\SetupExtensions.exe for Community).
  5. Use the SetupExtensions /CitrixClient /uninstall command to uninstall the extension. A confirmation dialog box is displayed.
    The UiPath Citrix extension is now uninstalled.
