Enabling/disabling Autopilot

Enable or disable Autopilot capabilities using Automation Ops governance policies and the AI Trust Layer.

By default, Autopilot capabilities (actions, search, agent, and the coding agent) are enabled across all products where they are available. Autopilot for Everyone is disabled by default.

For details on which capability set is available in each product, refer to Which capability set is available in each product.

Studio Web

Autopilot capabilities in Studio Web can be controlled via Automation Ops policies. To define a Studio Web governance policy that disables Autopilot capabilities:

  1. Add a new Studio Web policy in Automation Ops (for more information, refer to Governance in the Automation Ops guide).
  2. Under the Feature Toggles tab, disable the Allow Autopilot setting, and then save your policy.

Studio Desktop

Autopilot capabilities in Studio Desktop can be controlled via Automation Ops policies or via the file-based governance model (by editing the EnableGenerativeAiParam parameter).

To define a policy in Automation Ops that disables Autopilot capabilities:

  1. Make sure you are using the latest Studio policy template.
  2. Add a new Studio policy.
  3. Under the Feature Toggles tab, disable the Allow Autopilot setting, and then save your policy.

Autopilot capabilities in Studio Web and Studio Desktop can also be controlled by configuring the AI Trust Layer policy.

Test Manager

Autopilot capabilities in Test Manager are controlled by configuring the AI Trust Layer policy.

  • (For Cloud Dedicated only) You must first bring your own Large Language Model (LLM) subscription.
  • (For Cloud Commercial only) You can use the UiPath subscriptions provided out-of-the-box, or bring your own LLM subscription. When you bring your own LLM subscription, the model is marked by a custom label.

To configure the AI Trust Layer policy for Test Manager:

  1. Make sure the User License Management option is enabled in your organization settings. For more information, refer to User License Management.
  2. Go to the LLM Configuration tab in the AI Trust Layer of your organization, and set up your preferred model or subscription. For detailed steps, refer to Configuring LLMs.
  3. Create, modify, and deploy your AI Trust Layer governance policy in Automation Ops. This policy lets you manage AI-powered feature access at the user, group, or tenant level, and decide which AI products users can access. Check these resources for details:
  4. If you want to deploy the policy and still use the AI-powered testing capabilities, select Yes for Enabling Test Manager features within the policy's Features Toggle.

Autopilot for Everyone

Autopilot for Everyone capabilities are controlled through the AI Trust Layer policy and the admin experience from the AI Trust Layer page in Automation Cloud.
