Managing Datasets
- In the Datasets page, click the Create new button. The Create new dataset page is displayed.
- Enter a dataset name.
- Optionally, enter a description for your dataset.
- Click Create. The new dataset is created and displayed, ready to receive its content.
You can edit a dataset's name or description along with its contents from the Datasets > [Dataset Name] page, by clicking Edit dataset.
You have the possibility to make a Dataset public. Doing so, the Dataset will be accessible via an endpoint (protected with an API Key) from outside of UiPath® environment. This means that you can call it without the need to go through a robot connected to the specific tenant.
To do that, select Edit dataset or Create new dataset and select the desired option for the Make dataset Public field.
By default, all the data is encrypted using Azure keys. Once the dataset is encrypted, the DM sessions, pipelines data, and artifacts are automatically encrypted.
You can choose to encrypt data using a UiPath-Managed Key or Customer-Managed Key. For more information, see the Encryption page from the Automation Cloud™ guide. This feature is only available if you are using an Enterprise licensing plan, and requires Advanced tier. Please contact support for more information.
You can delete an existing dataset from the Datasets page, by clicking the three dot button next to the desired dataset and selecting Delete.
Once a dataset is created, you can add files and folders to it. Data within a dataset can be later deleted or downloaded.
- In the Datasets page, select a dataset. The Datasets > [Dataset Name] page is displayed.
- Click the Upload files button. The Upload files to [Dataset Name] page is displayed.
- Click Browse for files. A file explorer window is displayed.
- Select one or more files to be uploaded into the selected dataset and click Open. The file explorer window is closed.
- Back in the Upload files to [Dataset Name] page, click Upload. The file(s) is/are added to the dataset.
Uploading folders
- In the Datasets page, select a dataset. The Datasets > [Dataset Name] page is displayed.
- Click the Upload folders button. The Upload folder to [Dataset Name] page is displayed.
- Click Browse for folder. A file explorer window is displayed.
- Select a folder to be uploaded into the selected dataset and click Upload. The file explorer window is closed.
- Back in the Upload files to [Dataset Name] page, click Upload. The entire folder is added to the dataset.
Files within datasets can be deleted one by one by clicking three dot button next to the desired file and selecting Delete.
To delete multiple files at once, select the check boxes next to them and click Delete selected items.
Selecting multiple files and then clicking on three dot button next on a single file will only delete that file.
Files within datasets can be downloaded individually by clicking the three dot button next to the desired file and selecting Download.
You can also download all the files within a dataset by clicking Download Dataset.
The download-ready datasets are automatically deleted after seven days.
