The Coding Agents tab in Studio's Tools section, where you manage the UiPath CLI and give coding agents the skills and Studio extensions they need to work with UiPath projects.
Studio's Coding Agents tab brings together everything a coding agent needs to work with UiPath projects: the UiPath CLI it depends on, the UiPath skills that teach it your project structure, and the Studio extension it can install for tighter integration.
In Studio, open the tab from Home (Backstage View) > Tools > Coding Agents.
UiPath CLI
The UiPath CLI (uip) is the command-line interface that lets coding agents build, package, and publish UiPath projects and solutions.
The card reports how uip reached this machine — bundled next to Studio by the installer, installed globally through npm, or resolved from the UIPATH_CLI_PATH environment variable — and its description adapts accordingly. For example, when the installer bundled uip, the card explains that the installer already added it to your PATH and that the toggle below removes it or adds it back.
- Enabled - adds or removes the
uipfolder from your user PATH, so coding agents can find it. - Update channel - picks which
uipreleases you get:- Stable - recommended releases for general use.
- Preview - the latest releases before they're generally available.
- Off - no automatic updates.
Coding agents
Give a coding agent the UiPath skills it needs to work with UiPath projects, and install its Studio extension.
Studio lists one card per agent:
| 编码智能体 | 供应商 | Studio extension available |
|---|---|---|
| UiPath Autopilot | UiPath | 是 |
| Claude 代码 | Anthropic | 是 |
| 抄送 | OpenAI | 是 |
| Antigravity CLI | 否 | |
| Kiro | 亚马逊 | 否 |
| 打开代码 | The open source AI coding agent | 否 |
Each card reports three things:
- CLI status - whether the agent's CLI was found on this machine: Built in for UiPath Autopilot, or Installed / Not installed for the others.
- UiPath skills - installs what the agent needs to work on UiPath projects. For UiPath Autopilot this is Built in; for the others, the toggle stays labeled Needs agent until the agent's CLI is installed, then switches to an On/Off toggle.
- Studio extension - installs the agent's Studio extension, shown as Enabled or Available depending on whether it's currently turned on. Agents that don't publish a Studio extension show No extension instead.
Detection matches what the uip CLI itself looks for, so the tab and the CLI always agree about what is installed.
