October 2022

2022.10 LTS

Release date: 27 October 2022

As we come closer to the end of the year, we are proud to present 2022.10, the last LTS release of 2022.

Here are some of the most notable features in this release:

Studio introduces support for global variables. The UIAutomation package features a completely revamped Table Extraction wizard, and the Computer Vision activities can now replicate scrolling actions performed at design-time to find the target element during run-time.

The Robot brings a new Picture-in-Picture technology based on virtual desktops that supports multiple PiP user sessions per machine, and it does not require re-authentication or launching startup apps.

Action Center shows an overview of your actions and relevant metrics to help meet SLA targets. You can now run Apps and manage your Action Center actions directly in the UiPath Assistant.

Orchestrator offers a wizard to assist you in transitioning from classic folders to modern folders. It also allows for an easy, at-a-glance view of the EDR status for your robot machines.

Importing projects from external sources is available in Test Manager, alongside expanded role-based access. Last but not least, Insights allows you to export historical data to your own reporting tools.

What's New

Studio Support for Global Variables and Constants

It is now easier to reuse data globally within a project as you can now set a global scope for variables and use them throughout a project. This makes it possible to reference the same variable in multiple workflows without having to use an argument and pass it to each workflow. Additionally, with this release, Studio introduced constants which enable you to define global fixed values that do not change during project execution.

Revamped Table Extraction Wizard for UIA

UI Automation Activities revamped the Table Scraping feature providing a new design and some improvements such as a Preview option at the element level, a new toggle for the pagination link, and a pre-populated modern Select Item items list when an Object Repository target is paired with it.

Runtime Auto-scroll Support for CV

Computer Vision now replicates during run-time the scrolling actions performed at design-time to reach the same state needed to find the target element.

Picture-in-Picture Virtual Desktops

A new type of Picture in Picture based on virtual desktops. This allows you to run automations on a virtual desktop, supports multiple PiP user sessions per machine, and it does not require re-authentication or launching startup apps.

Actions Overview in Action Center

See an overview of your actions and relevant metrics to help meet SLA targets on the Overview tab in Action Center.

UiPath Apps and Action Center Widgets in the UiPath Assistant

You can do more without leaving the UiPath Assistant, as you can now run Apps and manage your actions from Action Center directly in the UiPath Assistant, without having to rely on a browser.

Classic to Modern Migration Wizard in Orchestrator

With the upcoming deprecation and removal of classic folders, we have created a migration wizard to assist you in transitioning your tenants from using classic folders to using modern folders.

EDR Protection Status in Orchestrator and UiPath Assistant

The Crowdstrike EDR (Endpoint Detection Response) protection status of your robot machines is now visible in Orchestrator and UiPath Assistant.

Project Import Capabilities in Test Manager

Test Manager projects can now be restored from a file. This allows you to export data from external sources such as Excel and restore it into Test Manager. The file format is well documented and easy to generate.

Historical Insights Data Export

You can now keep track of your automation benefits outside of Insights using your own reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, etc. Export historical Insights data covering Jobs, Queues, Robot Logs, Process Manual Values, and Queue Manual Values, and custom variable tables to add it to your business data. The data export is done through a SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) package that you need to deploy and configure in your environment.
