Autopilot as a coding agent — General Availability

Autopilot is now generally available as a coding agent in Studio Desktop STS (2026.0.199 and later).

Autopilot is UiPath's native coding agent, built on the UiPath for Coding Agents infrastructure. Rather than a fixed pipeline, Autopilot runs on skills, tools, and commands. UiPath's official skills are included out of the box. You can also author your own skills and reference UiPath's skills inside them — use the built-in skills, your own, or a combination of both.

Autopilot handles development work across the whole automation lifecycle:

• Plan from a spec — Hand it a PDD or SDD and it plans the automation, then builds it.
• Build and edit — Generates and modifies workflows and code that follow UiPath conventions, including UI automation built directly from a prompt.
• Extract from UIs — Pulls data out of applications through UI automation, end to end from a prompt.
• Run and troubleshoot — Runs the automation, diagnoses failures, and helps troubleshoot deployed jobs and flaky runs.
• Debug and fix — Finds the root cause and proposes the fix, including broken selectors.
• Explain and improve — Walks you through unfamiliar automations, documents them, and restructures workflows with better error handling, logging, and hardened Object Repository selectors.

Autopilot plans and executes end to end — build, operate, and troubleshoot from wherever you are already working, without switching surfaces. Key highlights:

• Skills and tools architecture — Over 30 built-in tools and an auto-loaded skills catalog that adapts to your task context. All tools are toggleable from the connected sources panel.
• MCP server support — Connect to Model Context Protocol servers configured in Orchestrator for external service integrations.
• AGENTS.md support — Capture project conventions in an AGENTS.md file at the project root; Autopilot follows them for the duration of the session.

Autopilot is included with your Studio license — Enterprise, Community, or trial — subject to a monthly usage quota per user license. Autopilot actions, such as fixing expressions or generating commit messages, remain unlimited and do not consume the quota. Run /usage in the Autopilot chat to check your own consumption; administrators can top up a user's quota with Platform Units. For details, refer to Licensing.

Availability in Studio Web is coming soon, and a pre-release extension for VS Code is available. The coding agent capability set arrives in Studio Desktop LTS with version 2026.10.

Documentation revamp

The Autopilot user guide has been restructured to reflect the coding agent experience:

• Getting started — Updated orientation pages, shared user interface and interaction guidance, licensing, and FAQ.
• Capabilities — Dedicated pages for Build, RPA workflows, Operate, and Troubleshoot, including an overview of Autopilot's tools and skills.
• Product availability — Per-product capability set table with availability status and links to detailed pages for each earlier capability set.
• Earlier capability sets — Autopilot agent, Autopilot search, and Autopilot actions are documented under their own chapter with per-product availability and connected sources.
