Quality guidelines for custom connectors

When you submit a custom connector, it's important to adhere to basic quality guidelines. This way, you make sure the connector is effectively usable by the UiPath Community.

Authentication

Make sure that custom connectors built through Connector Builder are configured so that any user can download and add it to a workflow. This should include the ability to establish a connection using their own credentials. Avoid assigning values specific to a particular integration. Instead, configure authentication so that anyone can input their credentials to create a connection.

Resources

Parameters and request fields

Like authentication, resources must be generic. Parameters and field values should not be specific to any integration. These values should be surfaced on the activity canvas for users to assign at runtime.

Response fields

It is important that all resources have fully generated response fields to make sure that activity outputs work as expected.

Testing

Before publishing any connector, thoroughly test each activity and trigger to make sure they function as expected.
