Settings for Studio Web Policies

This page documents the settings available for Studio Web policies.

Feature Toggles

Enable or disable Studio Web features.

  • Allow users to send feedback - Select Yes to allow users to send anonymous feedback using the Submit feedback form. This option is enabled by default.
  • Allow users to import projects - Select Yes to allow users to import projects into Studio Web. This option is enabled by default.
  • Allow users to publish outside Personal Workspace - Select Yes to allow users to publish to feeds other than the personal workspace feed. This option is enabled by default.
  • Allow Autopilot - Select Yes to enable Autopilot™ capabilities.

Activities

Enforce settings related to activity sources, automatic updates, and availability of preview activities.

  • Enforce dependencies auto-update - Select Yes to always enforce the use of the latest activity package versions available. This option is enabled by default.
  • Activity feeds to be used - Enable or disable the Orchestrator library feed for packages. This option is enabled by default.
  • Preview packages and activities - Enable or disable the availability of preview packages and activities in Studio Web. This option is disabled by default.

Note: If any preview activities are used in a project before a governance policy that disables them is deployed or the No Policy deployment option is selected for the user, preview activities and packages continue to be available in that project.

Workflow Analyzer

Control the availability of packages and activities using Workflow Analyzer rules. If a package or activity is prohibited, it still appears in the list of activities, but it's marked as restricted and can't be used in projects. The configured restrictions apply to all the feeds that are in use.

  • ST-USG-014 (AllowedPackages) - The rule allows restricting the use of activity packages in Studio Web by defining one of the following lists:

    • ProhibitedPackages - Packages that are not allowed in Studio Web. All packages that are not on this list are available in Studio Web.
    • AllowedPackages - Only the packages that are on this list are available in Studio Web.
Note: Do not include package version numbers when defining restrictions, include only the package name.

    When defining the restrictions:

    • Add the full name of the package (for example UiPath.UiAutomation.Activities for UIAutomation Activities). To add multiple packages, separate them by comma (,).
    • You can use the asterisk * wildcard character to match any number of characters.
    • Do not use the lists concurrently. If any allowed packages are defined, all other packages are prohibited.

  • ST-USG-026 (AllowedActivities) - The rule allows restricting the use of activities and triggers in Studio Web by defining one of the following lists:

    • ProhibitedActivities - Activities that are not allowed in Studio Web. All activities and triggers that are not on this list are available in Studio Web.
    • AllowedActivities - Only the activities and triggers that are on this list are available in Studio Web.

    When defining the restrictions:

    • Add the full name of the activities (for example System.Activities.Statements.WriteLine for Write Line). To add multiple activities, separate them by comma (,).
    • You can use the asterisk * wildcard character to match any number of characters. For example, adding UiPath.Persistence.Activities* to the list of prohibited activities means that no activity with a name that starts with UiPath.Persistence.Activities is allowed.
    • Do not use the lists concurrently. If any allowed activities are defined, all other activities are prohibited.

To configure a rule, edit the parameter corresponding to one of the lists, deselect the Use default value option, and add restrictions to the Value field.
