Recording client overview
The Recorder client is a lightweight installation that is downloaded on the recording user's machine. It records and captures screenshots and metadata of the task as it is being completed. There is one unified recorder application for both Assisted and Unassisted Task Mining. For Task Mining, the screenshots and metadata create traces to be reviewed and merged to get a comprehensive view of the process. For Unassisted Task Mining, the AI model is applied to the data to create tasks candidates to be reviewed and analyzed for automation and process improvement opportunities.
Even though the recording client needs to be installed on every machine in order to record data for each interaction, the performance impact is low and all the locally stored data is deleted automatically once it's updated to the encrypted cloud space.
This page describes how to get the Task Mining recorder.
The Recording Client for Task Mining is also available for download on the UiPath® Customer Portal.
You will get an email invitation to an existing Task Mining project. You can download the installer for the recording client from the email.
You can also download the installer from the project in Task Mining when you start capturing a trace.
.msi
is used to install the Recorder on your machine.
Installation can be done either per-user or per-machine installation. If Task Mining is installed per-machine, there is no per-user installation available. If Task Mining is installed for at least one user, as per-user, there is no per-machine installation available.
