Out-of-the-box Pre-trained ML Packages

We offer a set of pre-trained Machine Learning extraction capabilities (listed below), as well as the ability to train custom extractors either starting from one of these pre-trained extractors, or starting from scratch.

When starting from one of these pre-trained extractors, the effort to train a custom extractor can be significantly reduced, since the amount of data that needs to be labelled will be smaller than if you were starting from scratch.

The pre-trained extractors can also be used as is, if they perform well on the user's data.

Training and using extractors

A pre-trained extractor is available as a public endpoint such as https://du.uipath.com/ie/invoices. See the full list below. Custom trained extractors are trained in Document Understanding in Automation Cloud by using the One Click Extraction feature. Both can be integrated into automations in the following ways:

1. In Classic RPA workflows in Studio Desktop using the IntelligentOCR.Activities, the OCR.Activities, and the DocumentUnderstanding.ML.Activities packages,
2. In Cross-Platform RPA workflows in Studio Desktop or Studio Web using the DocumentUnderstanding.Activities package or
3. by calling the Document Understanding REST APIs.
