Automation Ops User Guide
General Availability
Release date: 26 April 2021
The ever-increasing scale at which organizations develop automations has brought about the need for an easy way in which companies can ensure all those who design and publish automations adhere to development standards and comply with certain rules, a need the file-based governance model already available for UiPath® Studio can only partially meet.
For this reason, we are happy to announce the general availability of UiPath® Automation Ops™, a centralized, web-based application designed to help you easily define and deploy governance policies in large environments.
Here is a quick rundown of what Automation Ops™ has to offer. For more information, see the Automation Ops™ Guide.
You can create as many policies as you need for UiPath® Studio and UiPath® Assistant.
-
For each profile in UiPath® Studio, you can enforce:
- General, design, and location settings.
- Which activities package sources are available to users.
- Development standards defined through Workflow Analyzer rules.
- For UiPath® Assistant, you can manage access to widgets, widget feeds, and custom widgets.
Policy deployment is as granular or as coarse as you need it to be, you can deploy policies at tenant, group, or user level.
Automation Ops™ has a different policy template for each supported version of the governed products. When you update Studio and Assistant in your organization, update the policy template to that version to ensure the settings match.
You can quickly migrate your existing Studio policies for the file-based model by generating governance files from Studio and uploading them in Automation Ops™.
