UiPathRemoteRuntime.exe is not running in the remote session
Behavior
The UiPathRemoteRuntime.exe is not running in the remote session.
Possible causes
1. UiPathRemoteRuntime.msi is not installed on the remote machine.
UiPathRemoteRuntime.msi
is installed on the remote machine. You can download it from the UiPath Customer Portal.
2. Virtual channels are blocked.
Starting with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 7 2109, all custom virtual channels are blocked by default. This prevents the UiPath Remote Runtime from working correctly.
Solution: You must whitelist the UiPath Virtual Channel. Follow the instructions from Virtual channels blocked by default to solve this issue.
3. UiPathRemoteRuntime.exe does not start in the remote session for your Windows user.
UiPathRemoteRuntime.exe
not starting in the remote session for your Windows user are:
- The
UiPathRemoteRuntime.msi
was recently installed and the machine wasn't restarted. - Your system administrator hasn't configured
UiPathRemoteRuntime.exe
to start for your Windows user. See more details in Task Scheduler.
4. Your remote connection might be going through multiple machine hops.
If you've installed UiPathRemoteRuntime.msi on the target remote machine and everything is configured correctly, but you're still getting this error ("Cannot automate remote app: UiPathRemoteRuntime.exe is not running in the remote session"), your remote connection might be going through multiple machine hops.
Solution: To enable remote automation in this scenario, follow the configuration steps from Remote Runtime Architecture > Multiple RDP Connections.
