How does IXP consume AI Units?

Check the following table for a simple breakdown of the IXP AI Unit consumption:

Communications Mining	1 AI Unit per message (design-time and runtime inclusive)
Generative Extraction for unstructured and complex documents	Charged per operation at runtime: 0.8 AI Units per page for extraction with prior classification. 1 AI Unit per page for extraction without prior classification. You never pay more than 1 AI Unit per page.
Document Understanding	Modern experience: Charged per operation at runtime: 0 for digitization. 0.2 AI Units per page for classification. 0.8 AI Units per page for extraction with prior classification (or 1 without). You never pay more than 1 AI Unit per page. Generative Validation consumes an additional AI Unit per page.
	Classic experience: Varies per operation or feature used (design-time and runtime).

Note:

When you classify a document with a Document Understanding modern project classifier and then extract data with an IXP model, the page is charged for classification (0.2 AI Units) and extraction with prior classification (0.8 AI Units), for a total of 1 AI Unit per page. Other capability combinations are charged per their respective pricing models.
