Chat features
The chat experience in Teams follows the Teams UX patterns. This section describes how each feature works within Teams.
Chat features are driven primarily by prompts in Microsoft Teams.
Starting a new chat
Microsoft Teams only supports clearing conversation context. You can clear the chat context by sending the prompt "Clear chat". Although you will be able to see the previous chat exchanges, the previous context will be cleared and the agent will continue like you started a new chat session.
Chat history
Microsoft Teams only supports a single chat thread at a time and previous messages are visible within the same Teams conversation thread. Scroll up to view earlier messages in the session and previous sessions.
Deleting chat sessions
Microsoft Teams only support a single chat session at a time. To remove conversations from your chat history:
- Select the more chat options icon to open the chat options dropdown.
- Select Remove chat history to remove the current chat session.
- Confirm the deletion to remove the session from your chat list.
Deleted conversations are permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
Citations
When an agent uses knowledge sources to generate a response, citations appear to show the origin of the information. Citation markers appear inline in the agent's response.
Citation preview opens the document in the default web browser.
Teams commands
Use the View Prompts dropdown on the bottom right-hand side of the chat to access available commands:
| Command | Description |
|---|---|
| Help | Displays the help message to understand capabilities |
| Logout | Signs you out from the current Org and Tenant |
| Change tenant | Prompts you to select a new tenant |
| Switch Agent | Choose from available conversational agents |
| Machine configuration | Not applicable Conversational Agents |
| List my accessible automations | Not applicable Conversational Agents |
