This feature is experimental so manage Organization Units carefully.
Organization units ensure the separation of Orchestrator components within tenants for assigned users. An organization unit includes the following types of entities:
- Assets (including Per Robot Assets)
Statistics are generated per organization unit and displayed on the home page.
Entities cannot be moved from one organization unit to another. The same Robot cannot be provisioned on two different organization units.
By default, organization units are disabled. To enable them, set the
OrganizationUnit.Enabled parameter to
true in the
web.config file (
C:\Program Files (x86)\UiPath\Orchestrator).
A default unit is automatically created on each tenant if it is enabled, and users can be assigned to one or multiple units.
When this feature is enabled, the user’s view of Orchestrator depends on the tenant it is part of, and the organization unit and role(s) assigned to him/her.
A user with no assigned Organization Unit does not have access to any type of entity.
The Units page displays all previously created organization units. You can add, edit or remove units, and manage the users assigned to them. For more information, see the Managing Organization Units page.
You can open the Units page from the User menu.
All the units assigned to a user are displayed in the Units drop-down list, which also helps you switch between them.
