Apps Release Notes
December 2021
Minor improvements
We are constantly working to improve your UiPath® Apps experience. Even though there are no major significant changes with this release, we made sure to bring minor improvements and bug fixes to our product.
We'd love to catch up and hear what you think on our Community Forum.
UiPath® Apps is now also available in the Singapore region. Apps is deployed in the same region as your Automation Cloud organization.
For more information, see Data residency (cloud).
New functions
We are very excited to announce the addition of two new functions:
- Now(), which returns the current date and time in your time zone.
- Today(), which returns the current date in your time zone.
For more information, see the Function: Now and Function: Today pages.
Data Context
Data context is a container for a single entity record that can be used instead of the Lookup function for an improved user experience.
For more information, see About Data Context and Using Data Context.
Previously, the maximum number of processes referenced in an app was 20. This is now improved and you can now add more than 20 processes to an app.
An issue was fixed in the way uploaded icons are handled. The issue allowed a user with the rights to create an app to upload an HTML code instead of a valid image. This behavior could have allowed an attacker to create a malicious URL used to download the image to execute arbitrary JavaScript code.
The issue was not directly exploitable in UiPath® Apps, as it required the attacker to have the rights to create an app and send the malicious icon URL to other users in order to exploit it. The vulnerability was not triggered by just browsing the application with the malicious icon.
More details can be found in the advisory section of the UiPath® Trust Portal.
