24 October 2022
What’s New
The team has been busy meeting your testing needs and is now ready to present a new Test Manager release.
To give you a brief overview, RBAC is now available, alongside new integration and communication paths with UiPath Studio and external tools
If you've tried the Automation Cloud version, you might recognize these updates.
Project Import
Restore Test Manager projects from a file. This allows you to export data from external sources such as Excel and restore it into Test Manager. The file format is well documented and easy to generate.
Import project to Test Manager

Redmine Integration
If you manage your issues or requirements in Redmine, the integration with Test Manager allows you to create defect reports from test results and sync requirements from Redmine to Test Manager.
To configure the connection, see Redmine Integration
Improvements
User and group access management
Role-based access control (RBAC) is now available in Test Manager. You can assign roles such as Test Manager, Test Designer, Manual Tester, Test Executor, or Read-Only to your users and groups to authorize them on their part in the testing effort.
Data export
Export Test Manager data in XLSX format to create your custom reports.
Test executions
When you analyze test executions, you now have the option to navigate to the test set that has been executed (see Analyze Test Results).
Upload Studio test results to Test Manager
Upload test results directly from Studio to Test Manager for your test runs, executed within Studio. This is the quickest and easiest way to generate results for Test Manager.

Search filters
Find the items that you want with filters for requirements, test cases, test sets, and test results.
APIs
API V2 introduces new APIs that you can access (e.g., Test Manager authorization) and a more consistent URL scheme (see version-based API). Additionally, you can use the APIs to update custom field values by providing the objectID
and the Name
of the custom field.
Important
API V1 deprecation
Test Manager V1 will be deprecated and no longer supported starting with the 2023.4 release (see Test Manager deprecation timeline.
Known Issues
For projects that don’t have Manage Access enabled, the Open Test and Unlink Test options aren't available to perform from the designer ribbon in Studio, due to a faulty API.
Erratum 9 November 2022: Added a known issue related to opening and unlinking Test Cases in Studio.
Bug fixes
You can now add a directory user to a project access list.
Erratum 17 January 2023: Added a bug fix related to directory users and their access to projects.
What do the labels mean?

This version of Test Manager is available in two deployment models:
- standalone Test Manager
- Test Manager service which is part of Automation Suite
The product is similar enough across deployment types to share the same documentation.
But differences do exist. When certain information applies to only one of the deployments, we use the following labels:
- only applies to standalone Test Manager and does not apply to Automation Suite Test Manager.
- only applies to Automation Suite Test Manager and does not apply to standalone Test Manager.
Whenever there is no label, the information applies to both deployment types.
Deprecation timeline
We recommend that you regularly check the deprecation timeline for any updates regarding features that will be deprecated and removed.
