What's new

Synchronizing Test Manager test cases to SAP Cloud ALM

The SAP Cloud ALM native integration has a new addition: the synchronization of automated test cases from Test Manager to SAP Cloud ALM. This allows you to manage your Test Manager projects more efficiently from SAP Cloud ALM.

For more information, visit Creating test cases.

Search project in natural language with Autopilot

Autopilot brings another capability, currently in public preview: You can now search across all objects in Test Manager using natural language, including test cases and requirements. You can search by properties such as labels and custom fields, as well as by dependencies between objects. Here are some example search queries that you can use, among many others:
  • "Search all test cases not linked to any requirement";
  • "Find all test cases that have never been executed";
  • "Show all manual test cases that failed in their last execution";
  • "Show all manual test cases with more than 15 steps".

For more information about searching with Autopilot and examples of queries, visit Searching with Autopilot.

What's new

SAP Cloud ALM native integration

Increase the speed of your SAP testing processes and the quality of your SAP solutions, using the SAP Cloud ALM native integration. This native integration acts as an out-of-the-box connector that allows you to manage and execute automated test cases created in Test Manager, directly from SAP Cloud ALM.

For more information about creating the integration and using it, visit SAP Cloud ALM.

Import manual test cases with Autopilot

This update brings a new capability, currently in public preview, offered by AutopilotTM. You can now import manual test cases from Excel files directly into Test Manager. This capability facilitates an accurate and efficient transfer of test case details, including names, descriptions, preconditions, or postconditions, and properties. Autopilot also allows you to import from Excel files that contain multiple sheets. During the import process, you can preview the extracted test cases to verify their accuracy before finalizing the import into your Test Manager project.

For more information, visit Importing manual test cases.

Generating preconditions and postconditions for manual tests with Autopilot

In the Provide additional guidance step of test generation with Autopilot, you can now instruct AutopilotTM to generate tailored preconditions and postconditions for your test cases. You also have the option to provide specific instructions for generating these preconditions and postconditions, which Autopilot will consider and follow during test.

For more information, visit Generating tests for requirements.

Improvements

  • When you are generating tests for a requirement, or an SAP transaction, you can instruct AutopilotTM to generate expected results for each test step.
  • We have provided more details for error messages related to Autopilot actions, specifically for the Token Limit Exceeded error.
  • In the Overview section of a test case, the latest results are now visible in two formats: Table view and Chart view.
    • The Table view presents the data in a grid format
    • The Chart view graphically displays the results using a dot graph.

      In the Chart view, hover over the dots to check execution details, or select the dots to navigate to the test case log.
