Troubleshooting

Solutions for common standalone Test Manager installation and upgrade errors, including temp directory failures and known error codes.

If you run into installation or upgrade issues, consider the following troubleshooting scenarios:

Failed to create temp directory

Description: When you install or upgrade to this version, the process fails with the following error message: "SFXCA; Failed to create temp directory. Error code 5".

Solution: Run the Test Manager installer with administrative privileges. To do this, open the Command Prompt on your machine where you intend to perform the installation. Execute the following command: UiPathTestManager.msi/l*vx log.txt. This command installs Test Manager while creating a detailed log file (log.txt) which helps in troubleshooting, if issues occur during installation.

The following Windows features need to be enabled in Windows settings

You might run into this installation error if you have missing IIS modules.

To solve this issue, make sure that you have installed all the IIS modules. For more information, see Software Requirements and Prerequisites.

You don't have the necessary rights to access this application

This error occurs when you are logged in to the host tenant instead of your organization's tenant. The host tenant does not have the necessary rights to access Test Manager.

If you have previously logged in using the host tenant, you need to change it to Default.

  1. You get the following message if the tenant is set to host.

  2. Select the logout button.

  3. Go to Change to specify the tenant.

  4. In the Tenant Name enter Default as your tenant.

  5. Enter your credentials and select Log in.
