Orchestrator Configuration Checklist

Provision Orchestrator


  1. Host organization created, host admin can log in
  2. Default organization/Orchestrator tenant, tenant admin can log in
  3. Seed data (default groups/permissions/folder and assignments) is created

Host administration


  1. Create and manage tenants (feature flags)
  2. Manage licenses
  3. Host settings (important: SMTP settings, deployment, libraries)

Orchestrator - Tenant level


  1. Log in, log out, switch tenants
    • Basic authentication, Windows authentication, AAD authentication
  2. Manage users: local users, AD users & AD groups
    • Auto-provision robots
    • Assign permissions
  3. Manage machines
  4. Manage packages/libraries
  5. Tenant settings (important: SMTP settings, deployment, libraries, calendars)
  6. Credential stores
  7. Licenses (should match host allocation)
  8. Audit
  9. Notifications - in-app & email notifications
  10. Manage folders & folder permissions:
    • Create folders & subfolders
    • Assign users/groups
    • Assign machines
    • Manage personal workspaces (delete, explore)

Orchestrator - Folder level


  1. Manage folders & folder permissions:
    • Assign users/groups
    • Assign machines
  2. Process management (create, edit, start job)
  3. Manage folder-scoped objects: queues, assets, buckets
  4. Triggers: create, edit time, and queue triggers; validate jobs are created
  5. Jobs: jobs are created, picked up by robots, executed, logs are saved
    monitoring
